Pre-Sale Items

What is a pre-sale item?

As a part of our commitment to sustainability, we sell most of our items through pre-sales. That is, an item of clothing will be available to purchase for a specified amount of time before we plan to produce it. When the window closes, we know the exact number of items we need to produce. This practice helps us reduce excess inventory and waste. 

What is a pre-sale window?

A pre-sale window is how long you have to get your order in! The product listing will clarify the exact pre-sale window dates. It doesn't matter if you order first, seventh, or last in the window, just as long as you get your order in before it closes. After that point, the item may be gone forever!

How long will it take to receive a pre-sale item?

Our pre-sale process is one part of our commitment to sustainable fashion, by which we eliminate wasted inventory. For this reason, we only place fabric and sewing orders with our manufacturing partners once a pre-sale window has closed. How long it will take to get to your doorstep depends on the size of the group order and the status of the fabric in question. Conservatively, it can take up to two months, but it can also be a bit less than this at times.

We know that asking you to wait up to two months for delivery of a clothing item is a bit radical in this age of instant everything - we do, believe us! But, sustainable fashion practices ARE a bit radical in the face of so much waste out there. We are humbled that you’re considering practicing better sustainability through us.

What if I miss the pre-sale window but I still want the item?

If you just missed a window, it’s possible that some (unworn) returns will make it back to us, in which case we’ll list them on our site, so check back periodically. We also encourage you to sign up for our newsletter so you never miss a pre-sale window! Plus, if ever we do offer a past item again, we’ll be sure to announce it in that very newsletter you just signed up for.

Limited-Run Items

What is a limited-run item?

Limited-run items are another approach to our commitment to sustainability. We produce these batches in small quantities and most often from deadstock fabric (i.e. leftover fabric that factories no longer plan to use or produce). By using this type of fabric, and in small batches, we can help keep it out of landfills.

How long does it take to receive a limited-run item?

Unlike pre-sale items, we produce limited-run garments up front, and so, we can send them out within a business day of your order.

Are limited-run items returnable?

Yes. Please see our return policy.

Will you ever bring a limited-run item back?

When we do a limited-run batch, we plan to use up all of the fabric we have. And because it’s deadstock fabric, it’s impossible to get more. To us, that’s a win because it means no random pieces of perfectly good fabric end up in the landfill. But it also means, we can’t ever make the exact same item again. If an item is particularly popular, though, we may consider producing the same style in a different fabric down the road.

Shipping

How much do you charge for shipping?

United States

  • Orders over $125 ship for free within the United States.
  • Orders under $125 ship for a flat rate of $15 within the United States.
  • We offer local delivery within 15 miles of Davis, California. It's free for orders over $75 and $5 for orders under $75.

International

  • All orders to Canada ship for a flat rate of $15.*
  • All orders to Europe/UK ship for a flat rate of $30,*
  • *Please Note: You are responsible for any import duties and taxes applied locally to your shipment.

When will my credit card be charged?

In the cases of both pre-sale and in-stock items, we will charge our credit card when you place your order.

When will my order ship?

You will receive notification emails when you place your order and when we have shipped it.  

Pre-Sale Orders: Because we only begin production on pre-sale orders once the pre-sale window closes, your order may be ready to go out between three to eight weeks from the close date of the pre-sale window. Please reference an item's specific product listing for anticipated dates. (See Pre-Sale Items FAQ for more information.)

In-Stock Orders: We’ll send these items out within 1-3 business days. Please Note: We do not process or ship orders on the weekends or on holidays. 

Each order is subject to product availability. We’ll reach out to you via email in the event an item is unavailable.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Pre-Sale Orders: Allow for order processing time (see above) plus 3-5 days for standard domestic shipping. We’ll always post production dates in each item's style listing. 

In-Stock Items: We’ll get these out the door within 1-3 business days. Once shipped, they’ll take another 3-5 days for standard shipping.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship to Canada and Europe for an extra fee. 

Canada Shipping Charge: $15. You might be responsible for additional taxes and duties upon arrival, per customs regulations. 

Europe Shipping Charge: $30. You might be responsible for additional taxes and duties upon arrival, per customs regulations.

Do you ship to PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses?

Sorry, we can’t ship to PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

Returns

What is your return policy?

We’ll happily take back any unworn, undamaged items within 30 days of you receiving them.

Get the process started by emailing us at contact@estella-moon.com and letting us know what you plan to return. We’ll then send you a few return options:

  1. A printable return label for an easy drop-and-go return. If you use our label, we’ll deduct the following shipping fees from your refund: $12 for one item; $16 for two items; $18 for three items. 
  2. Instructions for shipping on your own.

Items marked as final mark down (any item marked 50% off or more) cannot be returned or refunded.
